GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Carl Albert State College has an opening for an Admissions Specialist. This is a full-time position on the Poteau campus.

  Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Assist Admissions Specialists with processing of all Applications for Admissions
  • Direct traffic flow of students into the office
  • Process incoming and outgoing transcript requests
  • Input and update student records
  • Verify enrollment and good standing
  • First responder to all incoming telephone calls and fax communications
  • General office duties

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree required.  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a friendly, tactful, and helpful manner. Excellent telephone skills and pleasant telephone voice; familiar with MS Office products and CRM Recruit system. Previous experience in Higher Education preferred.

SALARY:

Carl Albert State College, in collaboration with Northeastern State University, is seeking qualified candidates for a Graduate Assistant position within the Office of Student Life. This is a two-year appointment designed for individuals pursuing graduate studies at NSU while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of Student Life at Carl Albert State College.

Responsibilities:

The Graduate Assistant will support the Vice President of Student Life as well as the Housing and Student Activities coordinators in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to the Student Life office, including daily operations, office management, and communication. 
  • Gather data and evaluate the effectiveness of student life programs and services.
  • Assisting with the planning, executing, and promoting of Student Life events and activities.
  • Assist with Residential Housing programs and needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Student Life and/or Housing and Student Activities coordinators.

Compensation: (20-hour work week)

  • Full tuition waiver for graduate studies at Northeastern State University
  • Semester stipend ($3,000.00 per semester)
  • On-campus room and board at Carl Albert State College (Housing availability is limited; family and married housing is unavailable. Couples accepted into the GA program may share accommodations.)

About the Role

Carl Albert State College, in partnership with Northeastern State University (NSU), is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for a Graduate Assistant position within the Enrollment Management Department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in student recruitment and admissions processes while pursuing graduate studies at NSU.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning and executing on-campus and virtual recruitment events, including campus tours, open houses, and information sessions.

  • Collaborate with the recruitment team to develop and implement outreach strategies targeting prospective students.

  • Engage with high school counselors, community organizations, and prospective students to promote CASC programs and opportunities.

  • Support the admissions process by reviewing applications, communicating with applicants, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Assist with academic advisement by helping prospective and newly admitted students understand degree requirements, register for classes, and develop academic plans in coordination with professional advisors and faculty.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to prospective students and their families, addressing inquiries and providing guidance throughout the admissions process.                                  
  • Analyze recruitment, enrollment, and retention data to inform strategic decision-making, identify trends, and support targeted outreach initiatives.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Recruitment to support departmental goals.

Qualifications

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Carl Albert State College seeks a dedicated and committed colleague to teach Child Development courses. This position is a full-time, 10-month position at our Sallisaw Campus. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

A Master’s degree from an accredited institution with appropriate hours of emphasis in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field; candidates with a Master’s degree in another field must have at least 18 graduate credit hours in Child Development. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; computer skills to support teaching and learning. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as strong computer and technology skills to support teaching and learning. Demonstrated skills in the development, design, and delivery of online course content are preferred. Previous online teaching experience is strongly preferred, along with a commitment to working effectively with diverse student populations.  

EXPECTATIONS OF FACULTY:  The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear aptitude for teaching.  Successful candidate is required to teach primarily on-line, but may also be required to teach traditional lecture and dual credit courses.  Assignments may include day and/or evening sections. In addition to teaching, full-time faculty members follow departmental syllabi; collaborate with colleagues in the selection of textbooks, software, and other instructional material; maintain students’ records; submit official records and reports as required; and maintain required office hours.  A faculty member will plan to engage in such activities as: student advising, course evaluation, classroom preparation, the evaluation of student performance, committee assignments, and perform other assigned divisional and college duties.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Carl Albert State College is accepting applications for a full-time Human Resources Representative on the Poteau campus. This position provides administrative support to the HR Director in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all college employees, to include, but not limited to:
