Graduate Assistant – Marketing and Communications Location: Carl Albert State College / Northeastern State University, Tahlequah, OK Position Type: 2-Year Graduate Assistantship Start Date: August 2025 Carl Albert State College, in collaboration with Northeastern State University, is seeking qualified candidates for a Graduate Assistant position within the Office of Marketing and Communications. This is a two-year appointment designed for individuals pursuing graduate studies at NSU while gaining hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, communications, and brand management at Carl Albert State College. Responsibilities: The Graduate Assistant will support the Director of Marketing and Communications in a variety of areas, including but not limited to: Assisting with day-to-day social media management, including scheduling, posting, and engaging with audiences across platforms. Assisting with the creation of digital and print content, including graphic design and copywriting. Assisting with the management and promotion of Athletics social media accounts and content. Assisting with the organization and maintenance of digital assets, including photos, videos, and brand files. Assisting with basic administrative tasks, such as coordinating requests, maintaining calendars, and supporting project workflows. Assisting with gathering data and preparing analytics reports to evaluate the performance of marketing and social media efforts. Assisting with the implementation of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) processes to help ensure accessible and compliant digital communications. Performing other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing and Communications. Compensation: (20-hour work week) Full tuition waiver for graduate studies at Northeastern State University Semester stipend ($3,000.00 per semester) On-campus room and board at Carl Albert State College (Housing availability is limited; family and married housing is unavailable. Couples accepted into the GA program may share accommodations.) Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (required) Admission into a graduate program at Northeastern State University by August 2025
Basic knowledge of social media platforms and trends Familiarity with graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred) Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills Attention to detail and a willingness to learn new tools and processes Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed Interested applicants should prepare a résumé, cover letter, and list of references and submit them to employment@carlalbert.edu.
