Poteau, OK– Recently, nine students and two faculty advisors from the Carl Albert State College (CASC) Oklahoma Aspiring Educators Association and the CASC History Club embarked on an educational tour of the U.S. Marshals Museum in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The students received a guided tour, learning about the U.S. Marshals’ formation in 1789 under the leadership of President George Washington and how their role has evolved over the centuries.
Following the tour, the students explored the museum independently and participated in a special session on designing lesson plans focused on this important chapter of American history. The visit provided valuable insights and teaching strategies for the future educators in attendance.
The trip was a unique opportunity to combine history with practical teaching skills, enriching both the academic and professional development of the participants.
