CASC ASSESSMENT TEAM INVITED BACK TO PRESENT AT COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION CONFERENCE

Carl Albert State College is proud to announce that the CASC Assessment Team has been invited back to present at the Council on Accreditation for Two-Year Colleges (CATYC) Conference on October 1-3, 2023, in Tempe, AZ. The team, comprised of Bill Carroll, Kim Hughes, Brook Wiersig, and Kelly Kellogg, are honored to represent the College at this national event.

This is the second year that the CASC Assessment Team will be presenting at the CATYC Conference. Last year’s presentation focused on how the College had made advancements in academic program assessment. This year’s presentation will focus on how the College defines and assesses student learning outside of the classroom.

Bill Carroll commented “We are delighted to have been asked back for a second year! We look forward to sharing our insights with other two-year colleges from across the nation. It is an honor to represent CASC and show our commitment towards student success and growth.”

Kim Hughes added “It’s great that we get another opportunity to showcase our accomplishments here at CASC. We have worked hard over the past few years and have seen great strides in student learning outcomes as a result. I’m excited for this chance to share our story with others!”

Brook Wiersig stated “I am pleased that we were able to make such an impact last year that we were asked back again this year! CASC is dedicated to providing students with a quality education beyond just academics—it’s about helping them develop their skills both inside and outside of the classroom.”

Kelly Kellogg concluded “The team has discovered that CASC’s assessment journey resonates with other institutions because launching and sustaining assessment efforts is work.  Our faculty and staff have been innovative with their approach to these assessments without preexisting two-year college models to follow.”

The CASC Assessment Team looks forward to attending CATYC and continuing to share the College’s assessment story.

From President Jay Falkner: “With the team’s knowledge and expertise in student learning assessment, they are sure to make a lasting impression on all who attend!”
