Nick Grant of Spiro, OK, was recently appointed to the Board of Regents for Carl Albert State College.

Grant is an accomplished attorney and counselor at law practicing at Lawson and Grant P.C. With a strong emphasis in his practice on real estate and litigation, Nick has established himself as a trusted legal professional in his field. In addition to his private practice, Mr. Grant serves as the Municipal Attorney for several towns in the area, including Spiro, Pocola, Panama, Shady Point, and Rock Island. In this role, he fulfills various responsibilities such as drafting ordinances and resolutions as well as providing legal advice on a wide range of municipal issues. He also serves as the prosecuting attorney in municipal criminal proceedings and represents municipalities in civil suits at the State Court level. Further, Mr. Grant holds the position of Municipal Judge for McCurtain, Oklahoma, and Bokoshe, Oklahoma, demonstrating his commitment to upholding justice in the community.
Mr. Grant’s legal practice extends to several venues statewide. He is admitted to the Oklahoma State Bar, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Additionally, Mr. Grant is licensed to practice in the District and Appellate Courts of The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and actively participates in the Leflore County Bar Association, further strengthening his connections and involvement within the legal community.
Mr. Grant completed his high school education at Spiro High School before furthering his academic pursuits. He earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law. Prior to attending law school, he attended the University of Central Arkansas in Conway, Arkansas where he received his bachelor’s degree and was a multi-year Letterman for the UCA Bears football team.
Beyond his legal and educational pursuits, Mr. Grant engages in numerous professional and civic activities. He previously served as a Trustee for the Carl Albert State College Development Foundation and is currently Secretary for the Spiro School Foundation for Excellence in Education. Additionally, Mr. Grant holds an executive role as Trustee and Secretary for the Poteau Valley Improvement Authority. He also serves as a Board Member and Past President for the Boys and Girls Club of LeFlore County. Nick is deeply involved in his local community and is a Deacon at Spiro FBC.
Mr. Grant is married to Amanda Grant, who he met in law school, and they are fortunate enough to be able to practice law with one another. Nick and Amanda have three children, Jackson, Asher, and Wilder, with whom they enjoy spending quality time. Outside of work and family life, Nick finds joy in traveling, hiking, and in helping to bring park and recreation improvements to the surrounding area. With his legal expertise, commitment to public service, and active involvement in his community, Nick Grant continues to make a positive impact in Eastern Oklahoma, and beyond.
