CARL ALBERT STATE COLLEGE CELEBRATES MARKETING AWARD WINNERS

Recently, at the Oklahoma College Public Relations Association (OCPRA) Summer Conference, the Carl Albert State College Marketing and Communications Department received awards for excellence and campaign work. Receiving Honorable Mention in the Campaign category was “Be Exceptional.  Be a Viking.”, the college’s external communications initiative stemming from the MarComm Strategic Plan.  Receiving “Excellence” in the Portrait Photography category was the photo “Bring It On,” captured by volunteer photographer Theresa Hudgens.

“These awards are a testament to collaborative communications efforts, utilizing available resources, and a desire to see Carl Albert shine, “said Holly Bormann, Director of Marketing & Communications.  “It’s a privilege to oversee our marketing and communications efforts and to serve with selfless individuals like Theresa.”

Hudgens, from Sallisaw, began her photography journey by capturing moments of her children.  From there, her talents were utilized by others for senior portraits, family photos, and much more.  “I am shocked to have received this recognition,” said Hudgens.  “I never thought anything would come of the entry, but I’m very grateful and honored.”

“We commend talented individuals like Director Bormann and Mrs. Hudgens, who strive for excellence in all aspects of higher education communication,” said President Jay Falkner.  “We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their commitment and dedication. These awards are an affirmation of the important role our marketing team plays in fostering a positive image of our college and its many accomplishments. We are confident that the recognition from these awards will help to further strengthen our reputation as one of the best higher education institutions in Oklahoma. Congratulations on a job well done!”
