CHEROKEE NATION RECOGNIZED FOR PARTNERSHIP WITH CARL ALBERT STATE COLLEGE

Carl Albert State College is proud to announce that the Cherokee Nation was recently awarded the Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award for their steadfast commitment to the institution and the surrounding community. These awards, which were presented at a special ceremony, honor businesses and organizations that have established effective partnerships with local institutions of higher education and demonstrate excellence in supporting economic growth and educational opportunities.

Carl Albert received a tremendous gift from the Cherokee Nation to fund a grant to enhance the Child Development Program at the college.  This gift will expand offerings and capabilities in this academic area, particularly in virtual delivery formats, so more Cherokee students, families, and childcare workers may have accessible means for growth and enrichment.  This goal will be achieved through the creation and implementation of innovative virtual child development classrooms and labs.  These classrooms and labs will provide multi-level opportunities for students to learn and obtain the necessary skills to work with children from infancy through preschool age.

The award recipients include local businesses, industry leaders, and members of the corporate community. These organizations have made significant contributions to local colleges, providing resources and opportunities that help students gain knowledge and skills for their future careers.

“We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Cherokee Nation,” said President Jay Falkner.  “Your commitment to helping us create a better future for our students and community is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued dedication to excellence!”

Carl Albert State College is proud to work with such outstanding partners who share our commitment to providing educational opportunities and promoting economic growth in the region.
