Dr. Jay Falkner assumed the Presidency at Carl Albert State College on July 1, 2016. He has worked at Carl Albert since 2002, serving in a number of professional and leadership roles including Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, Assistant to the President, Director of Title III Programming; Enrollment and Retention Services, Coordinator of the University Center, Scholars Program Coordinator, Student Conduct Official, Director of Intramural Sports, Adjunct Faculty/Facilitator for the Leadership Program, and Coordinator of the TRIO Upward Bound Program. Prior to joining CASC, he worked at Northeastern State University in High School and College Relations at various campus sites including Tahlequah and Broken Arrow. President Falkner’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources Management plus a minor in General Business from Northeastern State University where he was honored as “Outstanding Young Alumnus” in recent years. He also holds a Masters of Education from East Central University, and a Doctorate of Education from the University of Arkansas where he received the “Outstanding Ed.D. Student in Higher Education Award.”
Falkner represents CASC at the state, regional, and national levels in a variety of capacities including Past Chair of the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges, Community College Presidential Representative for the Oklahoma State System for Higher Education Complete College America Alliance Team, Chair of the Council of Presidents of Oklahoma Colleges and Universities, and Presidential Delegate for the Rural Community College Leader Learning Community sponsored by the National Center for Inquiry and Improvement. Additionally, he currently serves as a board member for the Leflore County Development Coalition, Leflore County Planning Committee, Kiamichi Technology Center Advisory Committee, Leflore County Coalition for Healthy Living, Leflore County Youth Services, and special consultant for the Pervasive Parenting Center of southeast Oklahoma.

Endowed Professorships provide financial resources to support excellence and innovation in classroom teaching. Endowed Professorships help provide opportunities that could not normally be funded by the College including funds for equipment, state-of-the-art technology, conferences, professional meetings, and seminars which help to keep CASC and its faculty on the cutting edge academically. Faculty are extremely grateful for the opportunities to gain and provide innovative knowledge and techniques afforded through the generosity of the program.
