Three local students in the Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science
programs have been selected to receive the ODSA TRIO Works Scholarship in
recognition of their outstanding academic achievement.
Emelia Spradley, a senior at Poteau High School and participant in the Upward
Bound Math Science program; Lexi Henson, a senior at Poteau High School and
Upward Bound participant; and Gracie Poor, a junior at Wister High School and
Upward Bound participant, were each honored for their commitment to
academic success and leadership.
The ODSA TRIO Works Scholarship is awarded by the Oklahoma Division of
Student Assistance to recognize exceptional TRIO participants across the state
who exemplify perseverance, service, and academic excellence.
Upward Bound and Upward Bound Math Science are federally funded TRIO
programs designed to help high school students prepare for and succeed in
college.
