POSITION:
Adjunct Instructor -Computer Programming
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Carl Albert State College seeks dedicated and committed colleagues to teach Online Computer Programming courses. The courses emphasize structured methodology of program design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of computer system applications using C#. Students will engage in project-intensive coursework requiring significant outside computer practice. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach course content consistent with departmental and institutional standards.
- Provide instruction on sequential and random-access files, processing techniques, and development of programs/systems of programs for both batch and interactive environments.
- Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Demonstrated proficiency with C# and structured programming methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s degree from an accredited institution with appropriate hours of emphasis in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; 18 graduate hours required. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Prefer teaching experience with commitment to working with diverse populations.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in community college teaching and assessment, as well as to candidates with an awareness of current trends in their fields.
EXPECTATIONS OF FACULTY:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear aptitude for teaching with emphasis in on-line teaching. Successful candidate is required to teach on-line courses and adhere to the CASC Online faculty expectations and guidelines of the CASC Online Courses Expectation Manual.
