Adjunct Instructor – Game Development
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Carl Albert State College seeks dedicated and committed colleagues to teach Online Game Development courses. The courses focus on design and development in a two-dimensional environment using leading industry applications, while also introducing the fundamentals of three-dimensional game theory and application development. Students use Unity Hub and WebGL for development and design, with an emphasis on interactive design and human interfaces. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teach core concepts of 2D game development using Unity Hub and WebGL.
- Introduce students to basic 3D game theory and interactive design with human interfaces.
- Provide hands-on instruction and guide project-based learning.
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Master’s degree from an accredited institution with appropriate hours of emphasis in the field of Game Design, Computer Science, Digital Media, or related field; 18 graduate hours required. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency in Unity Hub, WebGL, and interactive design principles. to support teaching and learning. Prefer teaching experience at the college level with commitment to working with diverse populations.
Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in community college teaching and assessment, as well as to candidates with an awareness of current trends in their fields.
EXPECTATIONS OF FACULTY:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a clear aptitude for teaching with emphasis in on-line teaching. Successful candidate is required to teach on-line courses and adhere to the CASC Online faculty expectations and guidelines of the CASC Online Courses Expectation Manual.
