Graduate Assistant – Division of Fine Arts and Communication

Carl Albert State college in collaboration with Northeastern State University is seeking qualified candidates for a Graduate Assistant position within the Division of Fine Arts and Communications. This is a two-year appointment designed for individuals pursuing graduate studies at NSU while gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of a collegiate academic classes in the fine arts and communications division at Carl Albert State College.
Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant will support the Division of Fine Arts and Communication in a variety of areas, including but not limited to:
- Assist all division faculty with grading essays, quizzes, and assignments (under supervision)
- Provide tutoring or writing support for students in all areas of study in the Division of Fine Arts and Communication, online, in the classroom, and the Writing Center or designated spaces
- Conduct review sessions or small-group discussions for composition or literature classes
- Assist with classroom setup, technology, and instructional materials
- Assist with student writing competitions and publication development
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technologies.
- A strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in the subject matter.
Compensation: (20 hours work week)
- Full tuition waiver for graduate studies at Northeastern State University
- Semester stipend ($3,000.00 per semester)
- On-campus room and board at Carl Albert State College (Housing availability is limited; family and married housing is not available. Couples accepted into the GA program may share accommodations.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (required)
- Admission into a graduate program at Northeastern State University by January 2026
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software and technologies.
- A strong academic record and a demonstrated interest in the subject matter.
