Poteau, OK – The Carl Albert State College chapter of the Oklahoma Aspiring Educators Association (OAEA) recently hosted a book poster contest for fifth grade students across LeFlore County, encouraging young readers to combine creativity with a love of literature.
Students were invited to read an age-appropriate book and create a poster inspired by the story. Posters were submitted to Carl Albert State College, where OAEA members reviewed entries and selected the winners.
First place honors were awarded to Kenzlie Washburn of Panama Upper Elementary for her poster based on Ramona, The Pest. Second place was awarded to Lexi Hoxit of Hodgen Schools for her poster over Warriors: Blue Star’s Death. Third place went to Gracie Neilson of Panama Upper Elementary for her poster inspired by Echo.
Winners will receive pizza prizes and certificates recognizing their creativity and participation.
The contest was designed to encourage reading, imagination, and artistic expression among local elementary students while also allowing CASC education students to engage with and support young learners throughout the community.
Carl Albert State College is proud to support educational opportunities that inspire students of all ages and foster a lifelong love of learning.
