CARL ALBERT STATE COLLEGE ANNOUNCES GENEROUS GIFT FROM PHILANTHROPIST MACKENZIE SCOTT

Carl Albert State College (CASC) is honored to announce a generous gift of $23 million from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott to the institution, marking a significant investment in the future of its students and the communities it serves. This contribution reflects the donor’s deep belief in CASC’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education and strengthening the region through learning, workforce development, and service.

At the direction of institutional leadership, CASC will develop a strategic plan to best steward these funds in a way that ensures long-term, meaningful impact for students and for the communities the college is proud to support. This planning process will focus on sustainability, academic and career success, innovation, and community engagement.

Board of Regents Chair, Dwight Spencer, expressed gratitude for the transformative impact this gift will have:  “It’s with a grateful heart and sincere gratitude that we thank MacKenzie Scott for her generous contribution and believing in our mission at Carl Albert State College.  The magnitude of this gift is not only transformational for CASC but will be generational in its outreach to the students and communities we serve. We are so appreciative for this gift, as it will change the lives and bring a brighter tomorrow for so many.”

CASC Development Foundation Chair, Steve Holton, emphasized the importance of philanthropic partnership:  “The challenges and needs of higher education continue to change at a rapid pace.  This unbelievable gift allows CASC to not only be forward thinking but to accelerate our response to the evolving needs of our students, enabling CASC to continue to provide the best educational opportunities for the people of our area, today and in the future.”

CASC President, Dr. Jay Falkner, highlighted the college’s forward-looking vision:  “This contribution strengthens our capacity to serve our students and communities in bold and innovative ways. As we craft a strategic plan for stewarding these funds, our priority will remain clear: improving student success and expanding opportunities that uplift our entire region.”
