Regents’ Scholarship Recipients Announced

at Carl Albert State College

Carl Albert State College has named eight incoming students to be Carl Albert State College Regents’ Scholarship recipients.

The program provides selected students with new laptop computers and college textbooks, for a total value of $3000 per student. Recipients of the Regents’ Scholarship also become members of the prestigious CASC President’s Leadership Class. “The Board of Regents established the scholarships to help top students with textbook and technology costs,” said Garry M. Ivey, CASC President. “The students made their high school studies a top priority, and now their college education will be greatly enhanced. We congratulate them and welcome them to Carl Albert.”

Students selected have an ACT score of at least 24 and a minimum 3.5 grade point average. The recipients are also members of the CASC Scholars Program where they receive on-campus housing, waived tuition, and a portion of meal costs.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Ronni Joe Killion from Heavener High School; Evan Dodd from Central High School in Sallisaw; Jeffrey Hawkins from Wright City High School; Cathleen Manlove and Kendell Shropshire from Poteau High School; Amber McCutchan from Whitesboro High School, Blakely Palafox from Muldrow High School; and  Logan Shelton from Wister High School.
