Logan Sloan – Student Success at Carl Albert State College

Upon graduating from Carl Albert State College this spring, Logan Sloan is transferring to the University of Oklahoma to further his education in the field of drama.  He has been selected as one of only forty in the incoming class of the University’s Helmerich School of Drama. Sloan stated, “I will have the opportunity to work with Emmy and Tony award winners, and this will help me as I work toward a successful career.”

Sloan is from Pocola and the son of Ron and Carolyn Sloan.  He shared that while at Carl Albert he has experienced many great opportunities. “I have benefitted so much as a member of the New Horizon Show Choir. We recently performed in Branson and this gave me the opportunity to audition for a summer internship. I have also served as ‘Mr. CASC’ and this has given me the chance to represent the College at various events including being a judge at some local pageants.”

When asked about his time at Carl Albert, Sloan stated, “Carl Albert is an outstanding and affordable atmosphere to earn your associate’s degree. It’s a great place to get acclimated to college life and get your general education completed, so when you transfer you can focus on the classes you will use every day in your career.” He concluded, “College isn’t necessarily about where you go, it’s about the connections and experiences you have and what you do with those experiences that will make you successful.”
