Testing Information

Testing
Students who are degree seeking must test for admissions with either ACT or SATand have those test results evaluated for placement into college-level courses.Adult students may test with COMPASS for admissions and course placement. High school students are encouraged to test with national ACT while in highschool, but may alternately test with CASC's ACT Residual testing prior to admissions to CASC. High school students interested in concurrent enrollmentmust provide a National ACT score for admissions into concurrent courses. National ACT
The National ACT is administered by Marsha Caughern. Students who need toregister for the National ACT may visit http://www.actstudent.org for upcomingtest dates and registration information. Students may also contact Marsha atmcaughern@carlalbert.edu or 918-647-1342.

Residual ACT
The Residual ACT is administered by Shalom Staats on the Poteau Campus andby Tamara Wright on the Sallisaw Campus. COMPASS Testing
COMPASS Testing is administered by Crissy Keeton on the Poteau Campusand by Tamara Wright on the Sallisaw Campus. High school students whotested below a 19 in sub-areas of the ACT and need to raise those sub areas foradmissions and course placement may do so by taking the COMPASS test. Adult students may test with COMPASS for admissions and course placement. CLEP Testing
College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) allows students to demonstratethat they have acquired college-level mastery of course content in 34 differentsubject areas. Students who successfully complete a CLEP exam can enrich their degree programs with higher-level courses in the same discipline, expandtheir horizons by taking a wider array of electives, and avoid the need to repeatmaterial that they already know. GED Testing
The current test series is the 2002 Series GED® Test—the fourth test series developed by GED Testing Service. The test is available in English and Spanishand covers the academic areas of a high school education: Language Arts, Reading, Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies. A high school diploma remains the primary ticket to many entry-level jobs, andis also a prerequisite for promotions, occupational training, and post-secondary education. In an ideal society, everyone would graduate from high school.Although that is not a reality today, GED Testing Service offers the only nationallyrecognized opportunity to earn a high school-equivalency credential.
