Annual Carl Albert State College Harvest Carnival for Special Needs Students Great Success

The Annual CASC Harvest Carnival recently took place at Carl Albert State College. This fun-filled carnival was for third through eighth grade special needs students in the area.

Hosted by the President’s Leadership Class with assistance from CASC scholars, CASC athletes and CASC staff members, this is an “all about them” event for the special student guests. According to Jay Falkner, “Most of our events took place inside, however with the beautiful weather we were also able to have a few things outside for students to enjoy.” Falkner went on to explain, “Carl Albert students staffed games, managed the activities, and served lunch to our guests with lunch provided by The Community State Bank and Sugarloaf Baptist Church. This is a wonderful event that is well received by the visiting students, and our students at the College love providing this opportunity.”  Falkner continued, “The students in the Scholars Program, President’s Leadership Class, and our athletes are encouraged and expected to participate in community service projects. By far, this is one of the favorite events for our students.”  He concluded, “The visiting students got to play and participate in a variety of events, have lunch, and go away with prizes. The Carnival is definitely a win-win for all involved.”
